It was the 9th annual Great Escape Festival in Brighton, which saw thousands of music fans flock to the south coast. We thought we’d get into the spirit by putting on some gigs over the weekend!

It was great to see some lovely returning guests and some new faces at the hotel, who were all in the mood to party from the second they arrived – queue several jugs of Bloody Mary’s!

AKDK at Hotel Pelirocco's Great Escape Weekender 2015
Thursday saw French indie-electro rockers The Rodeo and Polyanne Valentine take to the bar, supported by Peliroccan Simon Drinkwater, playing some dark psychedelic folk, which was a great start to the weekend.
On Friday (after some more Bloody Mary’s for a few sore heads!) the Sofar Sounds crew returned to the bar, putting on an amazing 6 acts, including the fantastic Lake Malawi. Everyone partied long into the night aided by our Sex on the Beach cocktail of the month, opening their ears to some outstanding upcoming talent.
Everyone was still going strong on Saturday, when we had a bit of an all dayer from 3pm in the bar! Young rockers Grasshopper kicked off the day playing to a packed out bar. (Think Joy Division with trance undertones!) And there was not one person who stopped dancing throughout AK/DK’s set. Tropical Folk Rocker’s ‘Time For T’ rounded off another fantastic night, with people even dancing in the corridors and the street!
We’d like to extend a big Pelirocco thank you to everyone who performed and came along to the bar this weekend – it was definitely one to remember, and we’re already counting down till next year….
