We thought we’d ask the lovely Charmaine Davies, one of the hosts of our monthly comedy night ‘Funny Fursday’s’ some questions about her work with the Pelirocco…

Hi there Charmaine, Could you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?

“Hi, I am Charmaine Davies, I’m an actress/ comedian and also co present a breakfast show with Jimmy Willis on Trickstar FM…I’m single and like moon light walks and eating out -sorry I thought I was on a dating site then!”

How did you first get involved at The Pelirocco?

“Nearly 2 years ago I was asked if I’d be interested in running a comedy night at Hotel Pelirocco, of course I jumped at the chance. HotelPelirocco is legendary!”

January - 15 years of Bettie Page at Hotel Pelirocco
Can you let us know what Funny Fursdays is all about?

“Funny Fursdays is a comedy night with a difference, not only does it have top comedians from all over the country but we have the infamous drawing competition where the audience can win prizes for their creativity. Always expect the unexpected at Funny Fursdays, especially with co host Matt whistler. It’s always the last Thursday of every month and free entry.”

What has been your favourite event that you’ve attended so far?

“Oh that’s hard as Hotel Pelirocco always puts on great nights and events but probably the Bettie page night was my favourite .. So much sauciness and glamour that night.”

Pin-Up Parlour at Hotel Pelirocco
What’s your favourite room here at The Pelirocco?

“I would have to say the pin up parlour but I would like to stay in the Kraken room one day that looks great fun and a little bit naughty!”

What drink do you normally order when you come to the bar?

“I normally drink white wine but my arm can be twisted to one of Hotel Pelirocco’s fabulous cocktails!”

Are there any events outside The Pelirocco that you would recommend our readers going to check out?

“Victory comedy at The Victory Inn, Dukes Street, Brighton, is a great night out. It’s the second Wednesday of the month at 8pm. Also, Giggle at the Gods is a late night show 9.30pm at Bar Broadway on Steine Street, Brighton, on the last Saturday of the month. And don’t miss me and Jimmy Willis on the breakfast show every Saturday 8am-10am!”
