The Han and Yan photoshoot was masterminded by Hannah Shillito Art who has a darn purty Dolly Parton artwork in our Dollywould room. Hannah is “a contemporary artist whose work is defined by maximalism and the joy of colour. Attention-grabbing, honest and playful, Shillito’s art emanates pleasure and positivity.”
What’s not to love about that?!
Sadly she was poorly on the day but many wonderful characters did make it and we can can safely say that colourful chaos ensued!
It was organised in tandem with Yan Skates who is the winner of this year’s Netflix’s Big Flower Fight – together they currently have an exhibition in that there London.
For this shoot he created vibrant headpieces and flower crowns to accompany hair styled by the uber cool Rock It salon for our willing models including @pudgekat, @jackie_86j, @jademossmusic, members of Sussex Coast Colour Walk, fellow stylists @vvravenstyle and artists with their clothing, crockery and posters.

The Blackmarket Burlesque presents A Twisted Christmas – fab fun and frivolity at The Old Market in Hove, just a handy five minutes walk from the Peli.
A unique collective led by Romy, they bring you events comprised entirely of local entertainers, seasonal plant based food and even locally made artisan liquor! Inspired by the spirit of the blitz – they are named after the pop up “black markets of WW2 that brought the community together, gave people something outside of their ‘everyday’ and were a little bit naughty!”
Well that sounds promising!
The line-up of local talent includes vintage glamour from Aurora Starr and the spooky Spectre. With different ticketing options of tiered seats with a Christmas cocktail included or cabaret style tables where you can also enjoy canapés and the VIP option of a meet and greet with the stars and afterparty.

Much fun was had at the launch of Bedlam’s newest additions, the rich and tasty Ground Control Coffee Porter is now available in cans alongside our other Bedlam beers on draught.
We caught up with lovely Danny and Sally from the Brewery plus met the folks from the Brighton Beer Blog reviewing all things beer round here and Connected Brighton – a social concierge bringing local businesses together…great idea!

The Peli has two quite different rooms available – one large, one small – both uniquely decorated and streaming daylight from bay windows overlooking Regency Square.
Hire is half day, full day and room only, or with accommodation in any of our 19 unique themed bedrooms (ideal for a team building Away Days!) plus we offer delicious in-house catering from buffet style to banqueting.
Seating can be configured in several ways – cabaret-style round tables suits smaller groups to chat and work together while theatre-style seating or long boardroom-style tables are ideal for presentations and screenings.
